“You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.” 1 Corinthians 7:23
As we move through our study in 1 Corinthians Paul here is responding to a question the church there had about marriage, singleness & divorce. I must tell you that since this letter that was written almost 2,000 years ago not much has changed in terms of what we struggle with as believers.
RELATIONSHIPS is obviously a question many believers have today. How can I have a healthy vibrant relationship? With a spouse? Friend? Parent? Child?
Truly so many of the difficulties we face today can be traced back to the relationships you and I have or do not have… and all of our problems or victories can be traced back to the most important RELATIONSHIP with the person of Jesus. Below are a few verse to chew on and if these simple truths are allowed access into your inner person God’s Word will have tremendous results…
Ephesians 4:2-3 “Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”
1 Peter 4:8 “Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”
Hebrews 10:24-25 “And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.”
May the Lord through His great GRACE help you to consider others, to love those He has given you the privilege of being in relationship with, & continue to maintain the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. In Jesus name.
By His Spirit,
Pastor Bill
