Heavens Not That Far Away

“And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”— John 14:3

Are you ready for your eternal home? Are you anticipating the day when the problems of this life will pass and you’ll be in HEAVEN?
In his book Mere Christianity, C.S. Lewis speaks about the benefits of living life now for HEAVEN, “If you read history you will find that the Christians who did the most for the present world were just those who thought most of the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this.”

Is your life being used of God to point others to HEAVEN?
In John 14:6 Jesus gave us the directions to HEAVEN, “I am the way, the truth and the life, no one comes to the Father but through Me.” Jesus tells us, He is the way. Many in our world today… struggle with this. They say things like, “how narrow minded Christians are,” and “why are you so judgmental, there are many roads that lead to heaven,” and on and on it goes. You see, the truth is that you and I should not be amazed that there is only one way, we should be amazed that a HOLY GOD, has made A WAY… for sinners like you and me to cross the great divide from this world and into HEAVEN. The CROSS of Jesus Christ is the only bridge that has spanned that casm. The CRUCIFIXION of Jesus, His suffering, His taking your and my sin upon Himself on the cross outside of Jerusalem was the only payment ever made to deal with our sins. We shouldn’t be angry and cynical that there is only ONE WAY to heaven, but we should be humbled and thankful and full of appreciation that there is ONE WAY to heaven and the bridge was built by the sacrifice and love of Jesus Christ. “Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for His friends.” John 15:13. Believe and receive this simple reality: the reason why you can go to heaven is because Jesus loves you and He has made a way to get you there. Believe in Him today!
