Have you ever taken a step back and realized, that if today you consider yourself to be a christian, the Lord has called you? The world called means to “ask you to come close to Himself.” He knows you like He knew Peter? He sees you like He saw Nathaniel beside the fig tree? He intuitively senses your doubts like He did with Thomas after His resurrection. JESUS, CALLED YOU AND WHAT MAKES THIS SO SHOCKING IS THAT HE KNOWS YOU!
Now listen, God didn’t choose you to put you on display in a museum. He intends to use your life to bring others to Himself and to tell this world that He is good and that He is love.
Nicolo Paganina (1782-1840) the great Italian violinist, willed his fine instrument to his home city of Genoa. His bequest carried one condition. The violin was never to be played; it would simply be placed on display. But that’s not good for a finely crafted stringed instrument. It needs to be used and handled regularly if its beauty and value are to be retained. As a result of Paganini’s request, his marvelous violin has become nothing more than a decaying form. It has wasted away as a museum piece.
What about you? Are you on the shelf? Is the treasure of God’s Spirit and salvation and Word in you but lying dormant not blessing the world like God intended? Is God’s Spirit filling your life today or is sin? Is God’s Word your daily bread feeding and leading you or are you searching still in this world for something yet to satisfy?
May God’s great love and grace overwhelm you in such a way today that He would be your all in all for His glory today!
