Dealing With Sin

“And he went after the man of Israel into the tent, and thrust both of them through, the man of Israel, and the woman through her belly. So the plague was stayed from the children of Israel.” Numbers 25:8

Here, at the border of the Promised Land, the children of Israel are gathered together in God’s prescribed formation, within the CROSS. For three previous chapters there is an attempt being made to hurl curses their way. Each time, only blessings flow forth…

Unfortunately, Balaam has another trick up his sleeve telling Balak to send the young Midianite girls into the camp….

Where as Balaam and the forces of darkness could not bring destruction upon God’s people, the REALITY was that they could trip themselves up.

As things went from bad to worse, a young priest, Phinehas stood up for truth. He stood against compromise. He was not perfect but he was passionate about what went on in God’s house and amongst His people.

What about you? Are you dealing with sin in your own life? Are you willing to take up the javelin and thrust it through an area of your life that’s not pleasing to God?

May God’s great grace comfort and draw you close to Himself as you go forward with Him and throw off whatever may be slowing you down…

By His Spirit,
Pastor Bill
