He’s Got Power

“The Lord gives voice before His army, for His camp is very great, for strong is the One who executes His Word.” Joel 2:11

Are you staying in the camp of God? Have you come to learn that God is strong and it is a sure thing for God to execute His Word on your behalf?

From Max Lucado’s book “God Came Near” he tells a story of how one New Year’s Day, in the Tournament of Roses parade, a beautiful float suddenly sputtered and quit. It was out of gas. The whole parade was held up until someone could get a can of gas. The amusing thing was this float represented the Standard Oil Company. With its vast oil resources, its truck was out of gas.

Often, Christians neglect their spiritual maintenance. In Luke 24:49 Jesus told His disciples and He is telling us how to never lack power… “behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” The Holy Spirit’s regular empowering is how to find yourself never out of gas.

The good news is that God’s power and word toward his kids is good. We can rest assured that God’s thoughts toward us are not evil but filled with goodwill and love and with an eye on our future and to make sure it’s filled with hope.

May God fill you with power today by His Holy Spirit.

By His Spirit,
Pastor Bill
