Joshua 5:13-14 “Are You for us or for our adversaries?” So He said, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” And Joshua fell on his face to the earth and worshiped, and said to Him, “What does my Lord say to His servant?”
This past Sunday we looked at God’s revelation to Joshua as Jehovah Tsebaioth “the commander of the angelic armies.” How wonderful it is to know that our Lord is a gentle loving Father but when it comes to the spiritual ruthless rugged battle being waged all around us that He is a warrior.
Here in Joshua 5 we see a picture of Jesus in verse 13 “with His sword drawn in His hand.” Now what is the significance of this revelation of His name.
God had to reveal Himself in this way to Joshua because He was sending Him to Jericho and the victory that would be won there would be a battle that was won completely in the spiritual realm. Oh what an incredible picture of how the Lord wants to work in our lives…
What walls are before you that are completely immovable? What besetting sin or struggle have you made peace with because you think you’ll never be delivered?
Jehovah Tsebaioth is on your side and He wants to take you to your personal Jericho and give you victory.
General Dwight Eisenhower said, “There are no victories at discount prices,” and so true that is. Jesus, the commander of the angelic armies have His life in redemption for us. There was no discount for our victory, but JESUS PAID IT ALL.
Trust and rest in Him completely today. He will bring your through!
By His Spirit,
Pastor Bill
